AFAIK the font list is populated from the fonts that are activated in your OS minus any fonts that Inkscape finds to be of insufficient quality. I'm not sure the exact tests that Inkscape performs to determine the quality of the fonts however.

So, you should add/remove fonts using your operating systems configuration options (usually you can right-click a font file and there's an option to install there; the font folder usually has menu items for removing).

Maybe there is now some more advanced way? I saw there are some questions/issues connected with font embedding and so on. GUI to manage embedded fonts will be the best option. It will (most probably) enlarge the size of the svg-file but extends cross-platforming side and cross-program side :)

I hate to resurrect such an old thread, but it fits quite well with my own question: How can i hide fonts from Inkscape v0.48.3.1?

I am on Ubuntu, with a full TeXlive installation, with hundreds of fonts and font variants. Inkscape takes a very long time to load, I suppose because it is reading so many fonts from the system. It would be a wonderful enhancement to have a font management system of some kind that allows the user to hide certain fonts or directories or *something* from Inkscape.

Please Please Please add Font Management! I hate browsing through all of the fonts but I don't want to remove them from my OS because I want compatibility when they are used. It would be nice to be able to choose my favorite fonts in inkscape and not have to see the others unless I choose to add them to the list.

thank you for all your hard work with this amazing software! =)

Can you help with this problem?
