"save" or "save as" option is not working. I have installed Inkscape 0.48.2 on windows XP

I have downloaded and installed Inkscape 0.28.2 on Windows XP. When I try to save a file using "save" or "save as" option, it does not work. I do not get any screen to save my file.

Please help me out...

Hello,

Could it be related to Bug #805095 (no File->Save As... dialog box if previously opened a file from root directory of a drive) ?
If so, renaming the preferences.xml file (in C:\\Documents and settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Inkscape) should fix your issue (as long as you don't save to the root of your logical disk).
