How do i add a new font into Inkscape and where can i go to get free ones?

Inkscape uses the fonts installed on your system, like other apps too.

For free fonts, you might take a look at these sites:
<http://www.google.com/webfonts>
<http://openfontlibrary.org/>
<http://www.fontsquirrel.com/>
<http://www.theleagueofmoveabletype.com/>
<http://www.dafont.com/>

and many others (ask google ;) )
