Scaling whilst maintaining proportions

How can I see that I have scaled a group of objects whilst manintaining its proportions? I need to show evidence that I have done this.

In the Transform panel, under the Scale tab, make sure that the "Scale proportionally" option is checked.

You may also want to open up Inkscape Preferences, and in the Transform pane, make sure that the four options there (to scale stroke width, corner radius, etc) are selected, or not, according to your preference.
