I want to put a line of writing on the curved path of a drawn vector, but I don't want the vector to show when I go to print it. Can you walk me through the process? I can get the text onto the path of the drawn vector, but I can not figure the step(s) to remove the vector line underneath the text.

My steps so far:
1. Use "Create and edit text objects" to type text.
2. Use "Draw freehand lines" to make rough path.
3. Use "Smoothing" to smooth the path.
4. Use "Select and transform objects" to block the text and path together.
5. Use "Put on path" under "Text" to combine.

Remove the stroke of the path. Right click on the stroke field in the bottom left corner and choose “Remove stroke”. Removing the path itself is not possible.

You could also move the path itself on a new layer (select the path, not the text put on the path), and use the 'show/hide' feature for layers in the 'Layers…' dialog to hide it, and to show it again if you want to edit it.

Additional tip for later editing:
If you hid the path (by whatever means) you can still select and edit it later on:
1) select the text put on path
2) use the keyboard shortcut 'Shift+D' to look up the linked path
3) switch to the node tool (keyboard shortcut 'n') to adjust the curve or move nodes as needed (make sure to have 'Sow path outlines' active in the node tool to have the path visualized by a red line for easier editing
