Creating an arc by degrees

Asked by L. Harrington

I am new to Inkscape. I can create an arc wedge, but I am looking to create one that is 45 degrees and I have no way of knowing that I've discovered. Is there a way to specify an arc by degrees? Thank you.

I got this question answered. Now I have my piece of pie with a 45 degree arc. What I want to do next is lop off the point with a second arc, this one with a much tighter radius. Any pointers, please? Thx.

Well not precisely sure what you're doing, do you mean creating an arc of a ring (like cutting up a washer; eg http://www.cdli.ca/courses/math3204/unit04_org03_ilo01/3-less5.gif)?

I would duplicate the current circle segment, resize it (drag a corner, whilst holding ctrl key down to lock the ratio), enable snapping, snap the vertices (points) together, then do Path > Difference (Ctrl+-) to take the top part away from the bottom and leave you with your arc.

Can you help with this problem?
