create and save a logo to use on business cards, letterheads, contracts, etc.

I want to create a company logo and be able to save it and then use it on a variety of different medium...business cards, contracts, letterheads, t-shirts, etc. Please get back with me and let me know if Inkscape will be the best place for me to do that....and how to do it. Thanks.

Work through the tutorials.

It depends a little on the type of image you wish to create but yes Inkscape is great for creating logos and the like.

You do it by working through the tutorials, learning how to operate the application, searching for inspiration on design and style and then implementing your design.

If you have specific problems with the application that you can't find the answer to in a search on Google/Bing nor in a search in the Answers here then come back and ask.
