would like to turn a picture into a black and white one color piece

Asked by DeBee Trant

I am new to inkscape but am trying to use it to produce
a vector image of clip art that is in a .jpeg form.

My supplier needs my graphic as a .eps vector file.
Where would I find this info. I have a .jpeg that I saved
as a .eps file and then opened it up. Now I am trying to figure
out where I would convert it to a one color black and white
graphic.

Can you help me
DeBee

You need to look at image tracing (Path > Trace Bitmap) and then save the file as an EPS file. Changing the filename to .eps doesn't change the file format. Work through the tutorials to familiarise yourself with the program.

Starting off by tracing a simply shape from a GIF or PNG file will be easier than trying to trace a JPEG file straight off.

This forum is really for Inkscape specific questions - have a go and ask questions about any problems with Inkscape that you have. There are plenty of other Inkscape tutorials online you can find with Google/Bing/Yahoo quite easily.

IMO, which others here may not share, not understanding the very basics of computer graphics or graphic design is not a question for this forum.
