change size of document to fit the image size.

Asked by Jakub T. Jankiewicz

In order to do this in inksacpe I need to do:

File->Document_properties
Select document
CTRL+A
copy width
select dialog
past into width
the same with height
CTRL+SHIFT+A
align to center of the page

I will be great if Inkscape have a toolbar button or menu which does that.

Hi Jakub,

It's not quite as complicated as that. Just use the "Resize page to content" option in the Document Properties dialog. That should save you some time!

If your summary is what you want to do - "change size of document to fit the image size." - why don't you simply use the button in 'Document Properties > Page > Resize page to content…'? There's no need to manually copy&paste of width&height values.

Usage:
- if nothing is selected, the page size is resized to fit the drawing content
- if there is a current selection, the page size will be resized to fit the size of the selection.
