resize pdf output file

I need to create a .pdf output file from Inkscape that is sized much smaller for sending via email. How can I do this in Inkscape?

There are several options you can adjust when exporting a PDF file.

and search for the section on PDF export.

For example, it might help to reduce the output resolution.

Of course, your export results depend on your original document content.
How large is your original Inkscape document?
How large ist the exported PDF document?
Does the original Inkscape document contain bitmaps / raster images?
