how do you fill in a letter (like a L) with text

How do you fill in a text letter (using appropriate outlined text) with words. I want to create the words to a poem in the form of a letter L.

Use text tool for the "L" then convert to a path (Path > Object to path). Then write your text (the poem) using the text tool again. Select the text and the path and choose Text > Flow into frame (Alt+w). Done.
