Delete Layer button in dialog does not work

I try to delete a layer by clicking the button with a minus on the Layers dialog box but nothing happens. (the "Delete Layer" from the "Layers" menu works as expected).
Is there anything special about deleting layers with the button?

The button in the layer dialog works fine in every Inkscape version I tested (0.46, 0.47, 0.48, current development branch) on Mac OS X.

Which Inkscape version are you using, on which platform?

Not beyond the obvious that one of the layers has to be selected.

I am running Inkscape 0.48.0 r9654 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
I just tried it again on a new document and deletion with the button works
so it is one of those bugs that only appears occasionally :-(
Maybe you should put the report in the trash - If it crops up again I'll
re-submit

You posted in the 'Answers' section, not in the bug tracker - could you close the question yourself using one of the links cited in this email response?

You can always reopen it later, and even convert it into a bug report, if the error reoccurs repeatedly.
