Someone said you can change the default page to landscape and inches and said you had to press a key after you change it in the Document Properties. What do I need to do to make that the default settings?

Asked by John H. Guillory

I need to know how to make the changes to the document properties (landscape, inches, etc.) the default so that every time I start up Inkscape it will use landscape and inches as default. Someone in a sign forum said how to do it, I just can't remember how to do it....

When inkscape starts it shows the file "default.svg" you need to find that file and save over it after you've changed the settings that you want.

On my system (Kubuntu) this file is in "/usr/share/inkscape/templates/" on Microsoft Windows I gather it's in "\Program Files\Inkscape\share\templates\".
