The various tool windows don't reopen after restarting inkscape

Asked by cmroanirgo

Whenever I open inkscape, I have to open the "layers" and "fill and stroke" windows and then resize them (so that they are the correct size), everytime.

Is there a way to get inkscape to remember the last set of tool windows (and their size) that I had open? It's a tad frustrating.

This is even more difficult if I haven't used inkscape in a while and don't remember the shortcuts for them and have to go hunting through the menus to find them!

(I love the program otherwise: thanks!)

It is not yet possible to remember the state of dialogs across sessions.

The mentioned 'Layers…' and 'Fill and Stroke…' dialogs (as well as 'Text and Font' and 'Align and Distribute') have buttons on the commands bar (the toolbar below the menubar) to open them.
