need to remove part of a logo

Asked by Darcy Lenardson

I have a logo that I created and i need to cut out some pieces of it and save as new without those pieces. Basically i used the text tool with the letters S and C joined together to create a winding path on my logo, but i need to cut out the top of the S and bottom of the letter C so just the "path" part remains in my logo. Help?

Convert the text into a single path - select the text, Ctrl+Shift+C (or Path > Object to path), Ctrl+K (Path > Combine paths).

Then use the node tools to adjust the remaining path to how you want it (see Help > Tutorials - Advanced for info on node/path editing). Click on the path to select, then on a node and press delete to remove that node, shift+LeftMouseButton to select multiple nodes. You can also drag path segments to shape them.

Can you help with this problem?
