Does Inkscape 0.48 run on Windows 7 ?

Asked by Fujisan

There is no description of system requirements for Windows users on Inkscape's homepage.
Does Inkscape 0.48 run on Windows 7 ?
And one more question.
Is pen-tablet really a must for Inkscape heavy users and artists ?

Tablet is not required to use inkscape. However that depends on your definition of "heavy user" and what a particular heavy user's preferences.
As to Windows 7, it runs but is quite unstable. I'd recomend it on Ubuntu only.

I don't agree - Inkscape is usable on all supported platforms (including Windows 7 and Mac OS X), not only on a single linux distribution.

An extended input device like a tablet with a pen is recommended for artistic use (calligraphy tool, pressure sensitivity etc.), maybe less so for design work (logos, icons, …), web design mockups or technical drawings and diagrams. But in the end this is up to the user and his preferred workflow.
