how to use the color dropper to pick and transfer that color

i want to pick a color from an imported image and transfer it to the inkscape i'm working on. i think i have to use the dropper but can't figur how to! please help me thanks.

1 -Click your inkscape object and make sure it is selected
2 - click the dropper tool ( mouse cursor will change to a eye-dropper )
3 - click on the imported image exactly where the colour you want is
4 - click on the inkscape object you want the colour changed..
