Node alignment

I know that this is probably not a bug. Node alignment don't work as in v0.47 (it seems that settings was inherited from object align settings, for example "align to last selected object"). Inkscape v0.48 is great and stable but behavior of node alineing make no sense at all. Is it possible to make some workaround and get something meaningful for nod alignment?

No workaround known that I'm aware of, unfortunately.

I'm curious to know how you are using node alignment and what effect you are trying to create. Perhaps there's a different way to achieve the result you want?
