Epson SX415 scanner drivers ubuntu

Hi all using Ubuntu 10.04 with all updates.
I got my self an Epson SX-415 all in one printer.
The printer works fine but ubuntu does not see the scanner to it.

How can I get the scanner part of it to work?

If your question is how to access the scanner directly from within Inkscape (and not about using it with Ubuntu in general): this feature is not implemented in current Inkscape versions.
