how to save an image??????

Asked by Ingrit Sander

my saved image: image1.svg can not be opened in Corel Paint shop - i receive the message: image1.svg is not a valid SVG file. How can I save my image and open it in Corel Paint?

I set up a folder : my inkscape images and saved the image as svg file into this folder. When opening Inkscape I can read the file - but I can not open them in a Paint Program

Where is the file saved to by default?

Hello,

Could you try to save with File>Save As...>Plain SVG (instead of Inkscape SVG)?
The default Inkscape SVG format adds stuff that may not be accepted in other tools such as Corel ones.

Whenever I port inkscape files to other graphic editors i do it via Scribus (open source).. Scribus imports Inkscape's plain svg very well. And its awesome when it comes to exporting to .eps .pdf or .svg formats.. Paint Shop should be able to import/open one of those three file export types from Scribus.

Can you help with this problem?
