If you need help installing Ghostscript, it would be useful to provide information about your OS (and Inkscape version) and what steps you already tried to get the EPS import working.

Takes a bit of patience and time, but you have to install a Ghostscript (located here)

http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/FAQ#What_formats_can_Inkscape_import.2Fexport.3F

(With the help of extensions, Inkscape can open a number other vector formats. For importing PostScript or EPS, you need to install Ghostscript and make sure ps2pdf is in your PATH.)

and then OUTSIDE of inkscape, in the Window's Menus there is a "PATH" variable that has to updated (add information on the local of the script) this entry has all the details for setting the WIN PATH..
