Wacom graphic tablet problem

Hi, I've read the previous posts on the Wacom tablets (I have a Bamboo). The thing is, the cursor works with the buttons, but not with the drawing area -- the pen, the pencil, etc., nothing works on the drawing area/canvas. I'm wondering if there's a way to solve this problem? Thank you very much!
