Many solutions:
1. Use an italic font.
2. Select the text with the selector tool (click two times, but not double-click!) and slant it with the skewing arrow (http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Transforms.html#Transforms-Mouse).
3. Select the text with the text tool and rotate the letters with Alt+[ and Alt+] (http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Text-Character.html).
