Delete Background

Asked by StayThirstyMyFriends

I just need to delete the background of a png image. And I'm not quite sure how to go about that. Didn't see anything on in in the tutorials. Did I just miss it?

I tried using Trace Bitmap, but wasn't really sure what I was doing or how to proceed.

Any help will be appreciated.

Mike

Hm, dealing with PNG's, JPG's and other raster formats is work for raster
editor like GIMP, Paint.NET, Photoshop etc.
Inkscape is primarily for vector graphics and therefore haven't many
function for working with the raster graphics.
If the needed form you want to extract simple enough - you could try to make
masking path and mask the background.
But I strongly advice you to use raster editor with it's powerful tools like
masking and magic wand and lasso for doing so.

cheers, Oleg
