making a variable textbox and then writing in it and then moving it...

Asked by adrugdealer@cox.net

I would like to be able to insert a template of a drawing. I would then like to make a text box following the irregular lines of the template. I want to write within the confines of those lines (and not go over the lines) and then copy the text that was inserted into the text box and move it to the original picture...will inkscape do that?

Draw the path you want, eg using the pencil tool or by doing a fill, then select the path and a text block and use Text > Flow into Frame (Alt+w).

Click the text tool in the toolbar and click-drag on the drawing area to create a text block. Click inside the text block and enter your text (eg type or copy-paste). Click the path, shift-click the text to put inside the path. Alt+w. Done!?

Can you help with this problem?
