How can I space text?

Asked by Albi

I would like to space text so that e. g. a 6-digit phone number has the same length as a 10-digit phone numer in the next line.

I am using Incscape Version 0.47.

Thanks for your answers.

Select the text tool. Click to the start of the line and use Alt+Comma and Alt+FullStop (ie Alt+ the , and . keys) to adjust the tracking (spacing of all characters on the line). Place the cursor between characters and use Alt+CursorKeys (Up, Down, Left and Right) to change the specific letter kerning and leading.

The Help > Tutorials > Inkscape:Advanced has this information in it and much else besides. The tutorials are really good IMO.

Can you help with this problem?
