Inkscape

inkscape opens file but won't let me work on it

I opened a file today but can't do anything but look at it.!!! No moving or selecting or anything. It took me days to create so please help me release it :)

Hi,

Could you check if the current layer is locked or not?
To do so, look at the status bar or open the Layers dialog and see if the lock icon is closed. If so, click on this icon to release the lock and free your objects.

No it's not locked. Also, I can "select all" through the Edit key but cannot select anything with the mouse (that is, I cannot select the drawing, I can still access all the File, Edit etc keys with the mouse)
