I cannot find how to scan printed material with Inkscape.

Hi,

This feature doesn't exist in Inskcape. But you can use Gimp to scan your document and then import it in Inkscape.
A request for enhancement has already been filed in Bug #171843, but nobody's working on it at the moment.
