Inkscape

adding text

I want to add text but when i click on the text tool, it doesn't give me an option to type in the text i want.

I figured it out.... just click on the A button. silly me

Did you try clicking with the text tool on canvas and typing in some text?

Thanks Alexandre, after playing with the program for a while, i eventually figured out what i was doing wrong. I had clicked on th 'T' and not the 'A' which is the text tool. I had a dumb moment there.
