How to work with the Inkscape interface files? (using Glade)

Asked by Martin Andersen

I'm not a programmer, but interested in looking into experimenting with the interface and maybe learn more about how it works. I've downloaded the sourcecode for 0.47 from the downloads section of inkscape.org. But I cannot find where the Interface files are for Glade. Any information on where to look, or documentation on working with the Inkscape interface?

Inkscape doesn't use Glade at all.

OK. That might account for some of the funky interface bugs. Makes it a bit hard for me to get into I guess. Pity, as Inkscape is one of the few opensource projects I would like to help along and is in dire need of some GUI lovin', and The Gimp would be harder still to get into and isn't bad as it is.
Sadly I think Inkscape would be too hard for me atm, I'd have to start smaller. Apparently the code is not well documented anyway.

Git version of GIMP actually has initial code for GtkBuilder/Glade support - the PNG saving options dialogs is created this way as an example. You could try porting other dialogs. Martin Nordholts (Enselic) is your primary contact here.

Can you help with this problem?
