Another simple system-wide workaround:

sudo ln -sv /usr/share/icons/oxygen/16x16/actions/document-properties.png
/usr/share/icons/oxygen/16x16/actions/gtk-properties.png

sudo gtk-update-icon-cache /usr/share/icons/oxygen/
