Thanks Windell, your "workaround" works with me!!!!!!!
Had first some problems, but that was because I saved the file in "normal" Mac text only, while it should be in the CR/LF format, as in MS-DOS. When that was clear it worked for the "Modify Path/Add Nodes" extension, so I presume that for now the problem is solved. I hope that future versions of Inkscape will have a permanent solution. But until then I can use it as it is now.

What I did was saving your document "inkscape_10.6_patch" in the Applications folder. Then, in the terminal:
cd /Applications
mv inkscape_10.6_patch Inkscape.app/Contents/Resources/bin
cd Inkscape.app/Contents/Resources/bin
patch < inkscape_10.6_patch
To be sure, I restarted and started Inkscape. As mentioned, it worked!!
