Comment 25 for bug 453931

I no longer have this issue. Between the last time I checked for it and today, a fair amount of other software has been updated (including all the usual windows updates), so it is difficult to pinpoint a specific cause. That said, the one thing I have not updated in the mean time is Inkscape itself. I just verified that both the stable 0.48 and developer 0.48 I tried in January now launch without issue.

I'm happy now, but that still leaves the mystery of what changed since January, and why it mattered this severely.
