Actually, I can't reproduce the half-way fix in SVN... I've put the test case posted above in the test repository in SVN, as well as one that transforms a (more complex) input to provide further checks. So from now on it will be possible to track progress at http://auriga.mine.nu/inkscape/ (takes a while to load).
