@peepo If making my report a new bug is easier for your to manage it then you have a go. Please be sure to subscribe me to the new bug as this issue is paramount to a workflow I'm curently buiding.

@~suv You may be right, bug #461842 might be another manifestation of the same issue if the image filter uses the same pipeline as the image element.
