Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it's correct to close a bug just because it has been reported upstream. It's still a bug - a confirmed one at that - and it's not resolved. The status in launchpad should reflect that, so that if a fix is detected upstream, the ubuntu devs are alerted to its existence.
