Feature Request: A time dependent category feature

Asked by A Randolph

Feature request: adding a time dependent category feature. It would be useful if I could tell a sticky note to change categories (and therefore display) at a certain time. This would help highlight how impending the doom the sticky note warns of is. I imagine that if implemented, it also would make sense to allow for multiple time changes of a stick note: doom in 1 month, 1 week, 1 day, etc.

I am new to all of this (to a reasonable extent including linux). If able, I'd be happy to help; I do have some coding experience, but since I am new, I am not sure how to assist.

Hi! Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, I am not actively maintaining this project anymore. Nonetheless, I would be hesitant to implement such a feature because I can't think of a clean user-friendly way to make something like this, even though I appreciate the idea behind it.

For example, how would this be configured in such a way that the average user (who likely will not use such a feature) isn't confused by. One of the principles that I tried to stick to has been simplicity: it is plausible that if a user's native language is not one that we have translations for, they should be able to find their way around.

If you do have ideas, I'd be happy to look at them and maybe even give you pointers on how to implement your ideas (I will most probably suggest you fork this project though).

Can you help with this problem?
