Display Issue in XFce on Ubuntu 12.04

Asked by Tom Dalton

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 with an XFce desktop session.

I installed the "System Load Indicator" from the ubuntu software centre. This has installed the package:
indicator-multiload 0.2-0ubuntu1

When I added it to the notifications panel, it looks like this:

The same problem appears to be have been reported here:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/270009/system-load-indicator-only-display-in-system-tray

with no answer. Is this a known issue? Is it fixable? I've just moved from Ubuntu 7, which provided this applet which worked really well, so I'd really like to keep using it if possible.

Thanks

Tom

Hi!!
I used to have installed Xubuntu with xfce 4.8 and 4.10 in my old PC and had the same issue, so I decided to use the panel elements.

Regards.

Hi Tom, Albert,

yes this is a known bug in the appindicator implementation of XFCE (lp:1014494, https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9040).
