The Me Menu

Is there an API for the Me Menu? If so, where is it documented, please?

I'm writing a micro-blogging application (connectr) and it would be nice to be able to link into the me menu, so that my program would be listed alongside twitter, facebook etc (when it's installed and active). I'm using python.

Unfortunately, my searching turned up only GUI design documents and user-oriented reviews, nothing for developers.
