How many papercuts will be fixed before RC ?

Asked by billytalent

I was just wondering if all the papercuts will be fixed before the RC. It would be a shame to this effort to not finish 100%. I'm not sure if its just launchpad not being updated, but it seems as if the 100 papercuts project has fallen asleep.

I'll agree the frontpage does give the impression it all kind of stopped in early September however I'm guessing that there are now over 100 'cuts' reported so there are no more rounds although haven't seen anything to confirm this (is there a 100 paper cuts blog?)

From what I can tell there have been quite a few bugs that have gone to 'fix released' recently however this is just my opinion I have no data for it.

It would be fairly kewl if there was a graphic showing the paper cuts progress through the life cycle from in 'progress' to 'Fix Released' some people could see the improvements that are being made over time. Although to be fair there are probably more important thing for them to do be doing at the moment, but I don't know it might be something they can do in launch pad really quickly and it would make the front page look like things are still going on.

A really really simple idea for this could be a total bar 'thermometer style' all the way to 100 with a marking at milestones e.g. 15th July 15 cuts In Progress | 5 Triaged | 10 Fix Released. I guess this could be automated by pulling the data from each rounds reported bugs and just checking the status report for any specific date.

(Unofficial I think) blog here : http://davidsiegel.org/

The UDS was in September and initially seemed to promise a lot of progress on this project, but instead, it does indeed look like bigger things are taking priority now so it's possible that there's not going to be much more cut-bandaging going on.

Could be wrong though. I hope so - there's still quite a few fairly major bugs in this list that could use some fixing.

Can you help with this problem?
