Pidgin mistyped password is cumbersome

Asked by BRuc3

When using pidgin and you do not store your password on the PC for security reasons. you mistype your password (specifically when i use msn protocol).

It looks like you have logged successfully into the account. When you open up pidgin you find out the account is disabled. so you naturally click re-enable. you are not prompted for a password. why can't you be re-prompted for the correct password, so you can smoothly login to the site.

Instead I have to click "modify account", put in the correct password, Click save, go up to "Accounts", select "manage accounts", click the check mark box next to my account, and then re-enter my password again.

This is way more steps than is should be and quite inconvenient.

This sounds sorely bothersome :-), however questions are not the place for bugs.

This is definitely a usability issue, so please file a bug against the pidgin project. What you have written here should suffice as a description.

If this bug already exists, and you believe it is a "paper cut", please press "Also effects project" in the bug report and assign it to "hundredpapercuts".

Does that answer your question?

Can you help with this problem?
