How can I combine multiple overlapping scans of the same image?

I have 4 overlapping scans of an image.

How can I use Hugin to combine them? When I import the images it asks me about Lens type, HFOV, and Focal length, but I don't know what those are?

Is there an easier way?

In the current version there is now also a scanned images assistant which does the steps described in the tutorial.
