Limiting the number of control points

Asked by eko123

I am struggling with too many control points between my photos, and would like to limit them to only one or two per overlap (I am only allowing x and y movement in the optimization, so I don't need many control points between images.
I have tried to include "%p" in the settings for cpfind, and hold ctrl when clicking "Create control points". Problem is that the system finds zero control points when I do it this way.
Am I using the %p function in the wrong way?
Thank you.

What arguments with %p did you used for cpfind?

In the options I simply added %p and nothing else.
When running the optimization, I held Ctrl while clicking Optimize, and in the popup window I typed «2» to limit the number of controlpoints.

Simply adding %p is totally wrong. You need it to connect it with a corresponding command line parameter.

One possibility would be
--multirow -o %o --sieve2width 1 --sieve2height 1 --sieve2size %p %s

But then you lost a better distribution which is achieved with the default parameters. (There is a higher probability that the cp are clustered in a small area.) Read the help page of cpfind for more details about the parameters of cpfind.

Can you help with this problem?
