Installing the HUGIN package

Asked by VLASOV EVGENY

There was a similar question: "659216: How do I install Hugin on Windows 10 64version? (Solved)", but the answer to the author of the question is not clear to me either. I did not find the tar.gz file in the unzipped Hugin-2019.2.0-win64.msi package. I would like to see a detailed instruction on how to install the Hugin-2019.2.0-win64.msi package for amateur photographers who are not familiar with the C ++ language. I have a Windows 8.1 operating system and a Dev-Cpp 5.11 compiler.

Apparently you misinterpret the instructions.

On Windows systems downloading and installing the *.msi file is enough (a doubleckick on the downloaded file should be sufficient to start the installation process).

Only in rare cases you need to build the package yourself, based on the tar.gz file which is a separate download.

See http://hugin.sourceforge.net/download/ below the heading "Pre-compiled versions" item "Windows:"

Yes, I realized that I need to use the Windows Installer, not the Windows archiver, which usually opens with two clicks by default for files with the .msi extension. Thanks for the tip.
