iPhone X image format not compatible?

Asked by Mikael Sipilainen

Is there way to get images taken with iPhone X to work with Hugin? When I'm converting the images to tiff format Hugin says always that the tiff format is unsupported. The same tiff image works fine with Lightroom and so on... Is there way to fix that problem easily?

Are you referring to the HEIC format? If so, Hugin is using the library vigra for reading/writing images. This library does currently not support the HEIC format. Also exiv2 needs to be aware of the new fileformat to read the metadata.

The TIFF format is a container for different variants. Hugin/vigra is currently only reading the so called scanline variant. Maybe you converted to a different TIFF format (e.g. tiled or stripped variant) - just guessing. Without an example it is difficult to say.

Hey it's better you use Lightroom to open this format images. Lightroom works fine with tiff format. You can fix that problem by downloading Lightroom latest version. I have solved my issue using same. You can download it from - https://thelightroomapk.com/lightroom-mod-apk-for-ios/

Can you help with this problem?
