hugin fails to launch on mac osx el-capitan

I have downloaded hugin 2014.0.0 as a dmg for my mac laptop. However, it fails to launch under el-capitan. The splash screen appears momentarily and then I get a "Hugin quit unexpectedly" message window (I have sent this to apple). When I try and execute Hugin from the command line, I get the following:

Then the "Hugin quit unexpectedly" message appears again.

Have I set up something incorrectly? I haven't had this problem under previous versions of mac OSX.

Also, I don't seem to be able to build the more recent versions of Hugin using Xcode or following the cmake instructions given on the compiling hugin website.

Any insights would be much appreciated.

Use version 2016.2. This should run on El Capitan.
The final version is not yet release, but there is a rc available for Mac OS.

Hi,

I just downloaded the Hugin-2016.20-rc2.dmg and installed the files. Double-clicking the Hugin.app icon creates the same issues as described previously. However, the software now generates the following debug file:

Does this help?

It would appear that the "HuginStitchProject.app" and "PTBatcherGUI.app" appear to start without crashing. Am I using the software correctly?

I can't help here further, I have no access to a Mac.

The rc2 was announced on the mailing list and no user reported a problem.
Maybe you ask on the mailing list (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/hugin-ptx)
There are more Mac user. (These answer site is not visited to often.)
