Thank you for helping but I still need answers.
I ran the below command and post the output
]$ /usr/bin/gpg --no-permission
gpg: requesting key A59047B9 from hkp server pgp.mit.edu
gpg: keyserver timed out
gpg: keyserver receive failed: keyserver error
Ran the command to check for gpg installation
]# yum install gpg

Nothing to do
I am new to Linux so it appear to me that gpg is installed. I was able
to download the plug-in file but would not run due to:
Session management error: Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed

it look like your firewall is blocking traffic with keyserver (may be on port 11371).
for more information, please refer the link http://
either you may open this port or block your firewall for a moment.
Hope this helps,
Naga Samrat Chowdary.

My DSL modem firewall was blocking traffic. With that down
I was able to get the key(see below for output).
~]$ su -l
Password:
]# /usr/bin/gpg --no-permission
--keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys 0xA59047B9
gpg: requesting key A59047B9 from hkp server pgp.mit.edu
gpg: key A59047B9: "HPLIP (HP Linux Imaging and Printing)
<email address hidden>" not changed
gpg: Total number processed: 1
gpg: unchanged: 1
With key in hand, I was able to get & run plugin.
Below is a short version of a very long output.
~]$ su -l

After running hp-setup (with output below)
the printer will not print. When you look at

was sent , was printing and then complete.
Yet, the printer never ran. Have any suggestion?

I followed your suggestion but the result was the same.
Printer satus box said the printer was printing and complete
when done; however the printer never printed. I installed this
printer to an APPLE and it did print.
Post the output of each command.

Any new ideas on how to get the HP P1006 installed on Red Hat Enterprise 5.0? I removed all printer queues related to this printer, ran hp plug-in, connected the printer and ran the hp-setup, but it still says that it is printing even though it does not print. Does the output posted above help any?

Please try by setting following settings.
System -> SELinux Management
Set "System Default Enforcing Mode" and "Current Enforcing Mode" to Permissive.
and try printing.
Sorry for inconvenience! I was busy with some other tasks.
Hope this helps!
