What is status code 2?

I am also hitting this same wall. OS is OpenSUSE 11.1, on a System76 Pangolin 1.83 GHz Intel board w/ 2GB RAM, for HP OfficeJet j4680. I am glad to see all these code 2 errors have been solved, but could the solution also be posted?

Hi Robert,

Make command failed with status code 2 is a generic message thrown by make if some of the dependent library or package is not found. Also it fails with status code 2 if the path where HPLIP is installed contains spaces like /home/I E Irodov
