Can Asus EEEPC work with HP Deskjet F4580

My daughter has an EEEPC 4G which has Linux software. She had a HP Deskjet F4580 printer for Xmas . I am concerned now that this printer cannot run with Linux software. Can anyone confirm this and if it cannot run with Linux s/ware is there anything else i can do ?

Printer model DeskJet F4580 is supported with hplip. Please install the latest version of hplip 3.9.12 from below link.Hope, it solves your problem.
