Your printer requires HPLIP 3.9.6 or higher which is not yet in Debian Testing. Do *either* of the following steps

1) Add a line for a unstable repository to your sources in /etc/apt/sources.list

Next, run at the console as root as with sudo
aptitude update
aptitude install hplip

Next, remove the unstable repository you added above in /etc/apt/sources.list.

Finally, at the console run 'hp-setup' as root to setup the printer.

2) Download and install HPLIP by following the instructions here:

This may happen if your system proxy settings are not getting reflect.
execute "http_proxy=http://proxyname:port" with your proxy and port from terminal.

and then start auto installer.

Hope this helps,
Naga samrat.

After you setup the proxy, please execute the following command from terminal.

"wget www.hplipopensource.com"
You should get index.html page at your current working directory.

If you are get success with above command, then start auto installer.

Thanks,
Naga samrat.
